The Way of the Rainmakers...

As someone who didn't really do well at school, I never thought that I would ever become an author, to date, of five books. In early highschool I never read books, but then around the age of fifteen I bought my first Christian book called, "Make your Faith Work" by Paul Yongi Cho. It was a shorter book, and I finished my first book. I wanted another book to read, then another, then another.
I also began to read books that had been turned into movies, or the published version of the movie. I devoured those books because I loved movies.

After reading many shorter Christian books, I remember having a thought that someday I would like to publish books like these because they had helped me learn so much. Rather than investing a lot of time on one long book, which for me could take months to read as I'm not a fast reader, I found that I could get the gist of a subject in a shorter book and be set. I did read longer books, for sure, but it took time to build up the discipline, patience, and enjoyment for larger tomes. Yet, still, shorter books would be where I saw a future to help people.

There have been books over the years that have impacted me greatly, that were shorter books. No waffling, just the nuts and bolts.

In 2019 I began work on a training manual to equip evangelists to share the Gospel. I worked with a few churches in Kenya and we had seen success in going "village to village" to share the Gospel, and pray for the sick. I would do my best to train, equip, and instill confidence in people, while I was there, so they could continue the work from "village to village" when I was gone. However, they kept requesting a formal teaching on the subject to train people when I wasn't physically there in Kenya.

I finished the document. Proof read it. Had a friend, Kenny, to check it over theologilcally, and made the changes as recommended. I was content that what we had was a basic introduction to supernatural evangelism, based off of what Jesus taught His disciples to do. The church that I was in at the time paid to ship a package containing several manuals and Bibles for the teachers. That was that.

In 2021, I was upset to see that the people we had invested time and money in, had not fulfilled their promise to teach, what we called "Vilage to Vilage (V2V)". I was upset about this, and frustrated. I then had the thought about turning this into a book. That way, people who WANTED to learn could purchase the book, or we could gift them, and anyone who followed the teaching could go and see people saved, healed, and delivered.

I had already dabbled in converting a long pamphlet into a very short book with Amazon publishing. The learning curve of setting up a book to sell for Kindle was steep. I am so glad that I took the time to do that because when it came time to turn V2V from a manual into a book, I had some idea what to do. I sat in my chair for sixteen hours on the first attempt at publishing V2V through Amazon. That was a long day, but I was determined to figure it out, and I did!

I had tried self-publishing companies before, but I didn't want 3000 copies of my book in my garage, and I had a box of another person's books that they never sold in my garage too. No, using Amazon was the way forward. They print to ship. Yes,  I may not get as much money per book, but if I order my own author copies, at a cost price, then I can sell them at my events. But at the time I did not have "events", I just had my book. It was the learning curve that was my reward.

My book on angels was finished when I stayed by the habour in Tenby for a week. Best view!!

When I eventually published "Village to Village" I thought that this was the perfect time to publish under my own publisher name, but what would I call it? Many years ago I had the name "Bough Publishing". My name is Joseph, and in Israel's description of Joseph, he called him a "fruitful bough" (Genesis 49:22).

I had a design of a young man sitting with his back against a tree, next to a wall, whose "bough" was growing over the wall. It was to be symbolic of how books can break down the walls in our minds and show us a vast world of possibility. Ha!, yes, I gave this a lot of thought. I sat on that idea for years, as I didn't have any books, authors, or know-how in setting this all up. Then Kindle released their logo of a person sat under a tree, reading a book. I was gutted! "Man, that's similar to the idea I had". That was the end of Bough Publishing. I had also thought that I would never write anyway.

Over the years I had become more passionate about Revival. The historic evidence of how Revival changes nations fired me up. In 2021, when it was time to release V2V, I chose the name Outpouring Press as the name for whatever I would publish. We need books that are written under an open heaven with the purpose of Revival, Reformation, and Transformation (which is our mission statement).

I have a few books that are in the final stages of editing, and we have a re-publish of a book a mentor of mine wrote years ago. He recently went home to be with the Lord, and his daughter would like his book to be re-published. It is such an honour to have another author's book under the Outpouring Press banner, and also my own father's first book will be published soon. The plan is to have all of these other books released before the end of 2025.

Now to my most recent release - The Way of the Rainmakers!

I love this book. It's raw, edgy, and it feels like I could've tidied it up a bit more. It was written quickly, but with passion. I may well amend it in the future, but for now it feels like someone trying to say something when they're on fire about a subject and they haven't got all of their words in order. I like that feel to it. It's about Revival, Reformation, and Transformation! It ticks the boxes.

To purchase my new book, you can buy it in the UK, and USA, and across the world through Amazon. Click on the Flags to go to the main two countries we sell in.

Mwy Arglwydd!!
